Cratejoy is looking for a product manager to join our awesome product management team. Specifically we want you to own the expansion of our B2B Merchant Platform. The Merchant platform forms the core of our Marketplace offering, and is the place that Merchants run all aspects of their business from. You'll be in charge of maintaining and expanding the offering in a way that hits our merchants needs, and helps us deliver on our long term vision. You will be a merchant advocate - working closely with our merchant base to figure out what their biggest pain points are and how to solve them.

You'll be using a combination of data aggregated by working with the customer success team, qualitative feedback provided by the merchants, and product roadmap strategy as determined working with the rest of the product team.

Product management is the most strategic and leveraged team at Cratejoy. The decisions they make, while working with the engineering team, have immediate impact to our thousands of merchants and millions of subscribers. Literally our merchants are in a Facebook group together discussing the changes you make, so the feedback loop to your users is incredibly tight. Tighter than we've ever seen at a b2b organization. You'll be in a position to dramatically impact a business and literally millions of other people's lives with the work you do.

STUFF YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Research and mockup new user facing functionality (new apps for the app store, adding features to our shipping page, etc)
  • Work with the operations team to make our existing functionality easier to use (go through support tickets to see what the pain points are and figure out if we can fix them with UI)
  • Work closely with the design team to transform rough mocks into beautiful features
  • User test new features
  • Develop close relationships with the engineers and work together to build really great features
  • Focus on retaining merchants through product solutions

WE TAKE PRODUCT VERY SERIOUSLY

  • We build together - anyone can have a great product idea from the Account Manager to the Designer - there is no room for ego's here

  • The whole team works towards quarterly product goals. We put them up on the walls and repeat them in team meetings
  • We're obsessive about metrics. We have 4 giant TV's with metrics that update in real time for the whole team to watch
  • Everyone is involved in the product success. The engineer that build the Referral Program watches how many installs it has and if there are any errors - seriously - we're all crazy

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO GET THIS JOB

  • Experience in product for a SaaS platform
  • B2B Product Management experience
  • Experience in e-commerce is a plus
  • You've built new features from beginning to end and watched it's success with data
  • You've worked with a team before, ideally cross-functional role
  • Data driven product - you know how many people have clicked on different parts of the platform and where the biggest drop-off point in the on-boarding funnel is
  • Self-sufficient. You're comfortable using SQL to figure out basic stats yourself

COMPENSATION

  • $90-$105k + Equity
  • Full benefits + Retirement

Who we want to work with

We want to work with people who want to work at Cratejoy, not just people who are looking for their next job. They specifically have sought out Cratejoy, they understand what our company does and they feel some sort of affinity with the mission. They are hungry for knowledge and are looking to be challenged in new ways, perhaps they even aspire to start their own business one day - or maybe they already have and now they want to know how to start a high impact business next time. They obviously care about compensation but they aren't just looking for the next higher title and a little pay bump from their current job. They are leaving their current company after making some sort of impact, rather than because they just seem to leave jobs every 18 months once they realize it wasn't as exciting as they thought it would be.

They seem to be aware of who they are as a person, including their own weaknesses, and want the sort of direct feedback and coaching it takes to grow their skillset, into a better team member, and even into a better person. In general people they worked with in the past would say that they are the type of person that "seems to make everything a little bit better" and that adding them to any conversation made the conversation more interesting, rather than more frustrating.

They respect their peers and want to learn more from those around them, and they give people the benefit of the doubt. They don't rush to condemn people and they don't quietly judge, they seek to help their peers be their best. They don't like to assign blame, but if they were to assign blame they'd be just as likely to assign it to themselves as anyone else.

They are hard working when they have a mission, but they aren't just aimlessly working tons of hours for no particular reason. They care a lot about what it is that they are doing, and they don't just blindly follow direction. They want and need to understand how their work connects with the mission of the company and once they do they take it on as their own mission in life. When looking to solve problems they are willing to go outside themselves, but only after doing the diligence necessary. They don't like to waste anyone's time - least of all their own.

They are quick to admit mistakes, and they don't let ego leave them on the wrong side of an issue for very long (or very often). In their area of primary skillset they are very strong in it. They may have other weaknesses, which is okay as long as they are aware of them, but there is at least one or two things at which they are indisputably A+.

Our product management team has grown from 3 to 8 in the past year and we're looking for a VP of Product to help this team continue to scale.

  • Documentation
  • Developer Story
  • Jobs on Stack Overflow

We work remotely so you can work from home and interact with the team over Google Hangouts and chat, usually during US or European working hours. Our goal is to make the Internet a better place to get expert answers to your questions. We've done a lot of that with Stack Overflow, but we think there's still more to do.

We believe in hiring smart people and getting out of their way. We have an office in New York with some of the best amenities of any New York startup, and we have people who work remotely all over the world. We keep meetings and ceremony to an absolute minimum, and will never poke you with a sharp stick.

Diverse teams build better products

Legally, we need you to know this: Stack Exchange, Inc. does not discriminate in employment matters on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, military service eligibility, veteran status, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, or any other protected class. We support workplace diversity.

But we want to add this: We strongly believe that diversity of experience contributes to a broader collective perspective that will consistently lead to a better company and better products. We are working hard to increase the diversity of our team wherever we can and we actively encourage everyone to consider becoming a part of it.

Product Manager

Zapier

Remote
SaaS
Mid

We're looking for a Product Manager to join the product team at Zapier. Interested in helping design and build a product that helps the world automate their work so they can get back to living? Then read on...

About You

You are a maker at heart. On a daily basis you'll help plan, coordinate, communicate, design, mock, test, and iterate on the core Zapier product. Today, Zapier serves over 1 million users, enabling them to connect 750+ apps in over a million ways, and we're just getting started.

You are technical. Whether you were an engineer in a previous life or you code in your spare time, you'll drive technically complex projects and be responsible for turning that complexity into a simple user experience. You thrive at abstracting away complexity and delivering a joyful, easy-to-use experience to each customer so they can succeed at using the product.

You are a skilled written communicator. Zapier is a 100% remote team and written communication is critical. You'll use summaries and reports to communicate findings, objectives and plans to the team. You're also help manage the day-to-day cadence of projects in our team's Slack channels.

You can prioritize the 5 tasks on your plate, and teammate's plates, too. There's no shortage of things you could be doing at Zapier. You've gotten good at saying no to good ideas and only focusing on the great ideas. You're comfortable setting and communicating project timelines with your immediate project teams and working to scale scope to hit deadlines.

You're willing to do and learn anything to help your team succeed. You'll be primarily working on small fluid project teams with designers, engineers, marketers, and data scientists. You don't need to be an expert in those things you but you should have a basic grasp of their roles and what they bring to the table. You'll act as the glue to fill in any skill gaps.

You design for the web. You've helped build functional web-apps before and understand the ramifications of web-app trends. You probably spend an equal amount of time with Chrome Dev Tools open as you do closed. You have likely built and deployed a basic web app using something like Heroku.

You love talking to users. Product Managers at Zapier are two-sided. One side is figuring out what we should build next. The other side is making it happen. Talking to users serves both sides and is essential to success.

You are data driven. You're comfortable with SQL queries. You understand statistical significance. You're able to use that data to improve the experience for the user and meet the goals of the business.

You love doing things efficiently. At Zapier, the work you do will have a disproportionate impact on the business. We believe in systems and processes that let us scale our impact to be larger than ourselves.

You love to set your own course with our shared set of goals. At Zapier, you'll have a weekly project meetings and then you go make things happen. You default to action.

Things You Might Do

Zapier is a startup, so you'll likely get experience on many different projects across the organization. Here are some things you'll get a taste of:

  • Talk to users and figure out what we should build next
  • Hold Zapier's technical context in your head so you can make good decisions about projects
  • Plan and execute new products and enhancements alongside design, engineering, marketing, and data science
  • Write HTML, CSS, and maybe JS to help perfect and ship a feature
  • Ship to hundreds of thousands of active users
  • Help conduct A/B tests and other experiments
  • Maintain a high level of autonomy
  • Give back to the community via open source and blog posts
  • Help customers via support to ensure they have the best experience possible
  • Experiment: this is a startup so everything can change

About Zapier

For the past five years, Zapier has been helping people across the world automate the boring and tedious parts of their job. We do that by helping everyone connect the web applications they already use and love.

We believe that there are jobs a computer is best at doing and that there are jobs a human is best at doing. We want to empower businesses to create processes and systems that let computers do what they are best at doing and let humans do what they are best at doing.

We believe that with the right tools, you can have big impact with less hassle.

We believe in small teams. Small teams are fast and nimble. Small teams mean less bureaucracy and less management and more getting things done.

We believe that credentials don't say everything. Our CTO has a finance degree. Our CEO has an engineering degree. Our CPO has a mechanical engineering degree. What you love doing is way more important than the credentials you have.

We believe in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment. All teammates at Zapier agree to a code of conduct.

The Whole Package

Location: Planet Earth.

If you want to work remote, that's great. If you want to work near others, that's cool too. Our team is distributed across California, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Pennsylvania and the UK because it lets us work with the best people. You don't have to be located in the USA either. Some of the team live in the United Kingdom, Thailand, New Zealand and Australia. You just have to be talented!

Compensation:

  • Competitive salary (we don't use remote as an excuse to pay less)
  • Great healthcare + dental + vision coverage
  • Retirement plan with 4% company match
  • Profit sharing
  • 2 annual company retreats to awesome places
  • 14 weeks paid leave for new parents
  • Pick your own equipment. We'll set you up with whatever laptop + monitor combo you want plus any software you need.

Unlimited vacation policy (plus we insist you take at least 2 weeks off each year - this isn't a vague policy where unlimited vacation means no vacation). Work-life balance is really important to everyone at Zapier - we believe it and practice it!

Work with awesome companies around the world. We partner with great software companies all over the world and you'll constantly get to interact with people from these great companies.

Join the LevelUp Team and work alongside other talented, driven individuals to help build the next generation of mobile payments. LevelUp powers the mobile payment, ordering and loyalty apps for leading restaurant brands to help them engage their customers and drive sales.

LevelUp is used by more than 4MM customers paying at over 14,000 locations nationwide. Backed by Google Ventures, T-Ventures and Highland Capital, LevelUp powers the mobile experiences for top brands like Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Equinox, Steak 'N Shake, Dunn Bros Coffee, Argo Tea & sweetgreen.

Summary

The LevelUp team is looking for a highly technical Product Manager to work alongside our designers, developers, and account managers on creating and launching successful mobile apps on the LevelUp payment network. As a product manager for the Agency team, you'll be working directly with our white label clients to develop a vision for their app, define product requirements, and shepherd apps through to launch and beyond. At the same time, you'll be charged with gathering qualitative feedback and other data from all clients into a cohesive product strategy for LevelUp Agency.

ABOUT YOU

  • You have outstanding communication skills. You'll need to work with every team at LevelUp, from engineering to finance to support, and you'll spend a lot of time on the phone with clients having deep discussions about product ideas and opportunities.
  • Your ability to make a case and back it up is matched only by your ability to be flawlessly diplomatic while doing so.
  • You're great at managing complexity. Mobile app launches have a lot of moving parts, especially for clients in the restaurant business. While most of the operations, finance, and marketing components are handled by the client's account manager, you'll be responsible for keeping any development work on track.
  • You're comfortable when things get technical. You don't need to have a CS degree or an engineering background, but it helps.
  • You'll be asked to use Postman to test API calls, write SQL to answer your own data questions, and understand the rough complexity of product enhancements without engineering input.
  • You learn quickly. The LevelUp platform does a lot, and you'll need to pick up all the ins and outs of the product in your first few months on the job, and retain all of that knowledge to help you with future projects.
  • You appreciate great design. Your strong eye for detail complements your obsession for making sure everything is pixel-perfect. You have a strong vision for how things should look and work, and can clearly articulate that vision to your design counterparts. You're also willing and able to adjust that vision on the fly when present with new feedback or data.
  • You're a great copywriter. You expertly balance brevity and persuasiveness in writing calls to action and other copy for a product. You never use 7 words where 5 will do, and you spend those 5 words carefully, never settling for copy that is "good enough".
  • You have a get-it-done attitude. You recognize no bounds to the scope of your role and will do anything you can do to help get a product shipped.
  • Past experience working in an agency environment is a plus, but not required.

BENEFITS & PERKS

  • Free catered lunches daily from the businesses in the LevelUp ecosystem
  • A never ending amount of coffee beans to make whatever satiates your palate (Americano, Latte, Espresso, Regular Cup O Joe)
  • Strong benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability and Life Insurance, fully paid for by LevelUp and 401(k) with company match
  • Convenient access to the MBTA via red, green & orange line (Downtown Crossing, Park Street, and South Station are only a few blocks away)
