What You'll Do

Create and lead the Interaction Experience Product Management team:

  • Set the short and long term product vision for delivering the Sonos ultimate home sound experience.
  • Create the roadmap for Sonos apps and interaction experiences; Partner with Design, Brand and Marketing teams to build experiences for all users who encounter Sonos.

The Akamai Web Application Security business launched in 2009 with the Web Application Firewall product as an option sold with application and site performance solutions. Since then, the business has grown to include a wider portfolio of cloud-based security services. In early 2013 Akamai established a business unit dedicated to security.

Akamai's vast deployment of Internet-based edge servers enables unparalleled service capacity and availability. Akamai has also developed a massive Hadoop cluster for security research, forensics, intelligence and other non-real time analysis purposes. This enables Akamai to develop solutions that leverage its global scale and visibility into web application attacks. A recent addition to Akamai's security solutions portfolio is our Bot Manager product.

Akamai is an innovator in the bot management space, leading the market in providing a solution to differentiate between human browsing and automated / bot access to a website. Akamai's goal with Bot Manager is to define this market by setting new standards for excellence that leverage Akamai's unique characteristics - its scale and visibility.

We are seeking an individual to drive the evolution of the Bot Manager product with key developmental focus areas being detection technology, usability, integration with origin security controls, and partner enablement. This position will require defining new product requirements based on direct customer and partner feedback.

In addition to being the product manager for Bot Manager, this person will also be required to manage several other product launch and business initiatives. This role also includes providing pricing and transaction support.

This person will work closely with the product architecture, portal, threat intelligence and 'big data' engineering teams. Additionally, this person will work with the Media Analytics business unit, which develops the real-time analytics solution called Security Monitor used by Akamai security customers.

The ideal candidate will possess a working knowledge of web security, expertise in browsers and client-side technologies and have demonstrated experience as a product manager.

This position will be based in Akamai's HQ office in Cambridge, MA. It will involve travel to tradeshows, to meet with customers and partners as well as occasional travel to Akamai's offices in Israel and the San Francisco bay area.

  • Define, implement and extend product roadmaps for both new and existing Kona Security services, with a specific emphasis on Bot Manager product innovation.
  • Define and drive the business plan and positioning of the products working closely with Product Marketing, Business Development and the Channels organization to define the go to market plan.
  • Drive the roadmap working closely with engineering and a full cross-functional team including product marketing, sales, channels, service and support, network and operations, integration services, customer care, and billing.
  • Manage products through launch and follow-on releases.
  • Interact with partners, customers and prospects to identify market needs and define product requirements that the engineering team can deliver within specification, on time, and within budget.
  • Create and deliver sales training for the direct sales force as well as channel partner sales forces and technical services and support teams.
  • Write and develop product collateral such as product descriptions, presentations, sales tools and technical white papers.
  • Represent Akamai at conferences and other events.

Team members have backgrounds from across the industry, including Internet Security Systems, Imperva, Computer Associates, Trustwave, RSA, Symantec and others. Our products are used today by the world's top businesses to protect and secure their web sites and web applications.

The products team works closely with engineering teams in Cambridge (MA), San ta Clara (CA), Ft. Lauderdale (FL), Herzliya (Israel) and Bangalore (India). The team works collaboratively with customers, engineering and professional services teams to gain a deep understanding of customer pain points and to define highly effective solutions that can be delivered effectively.

Required Education and Experience

Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:

  • 12 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or
  • 8 years of relevant experience and a Master's degree

Basic Skills

  • 7+ years of experience with product management, product marketing, product development or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience with internet related technologies, or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of experience with internet and web application security or equivalent.

Desired Skills

  • Prior Product Management experience managing WAF, Bot protection, and/or related Application Security products.
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about current security industry and trends with experience working in internet and web security.
