The efficiencies gained through better development infrastructure are a force multiplier for each part of the company, so this role is critical as we scale our teams. We are a company that moves fast and our growing team of 500 engineers can ship their code to production with the push of a button at any time of day. To provide that type of agility to our engineering team, Airbnb needs world class development infrastructure. Spanning the areas of development environments for our service oriented architecture, code authorship, testing, deployment, and monitoring, the experience must be seamless.

The product manager in this role will execute to understand the "why" and the "what" of our development infrastructure system, defining the vision of how engineers work at Airbnb. Additionally, this person will execute on the "when" and the "how" of getting that vision built and launched to our team of engineers, working through the full product life cycle. As we scale, our testing and deployment systems need to evolve and this product manager will own that challenging task.

This role is based in San Francisco.


  • Five years setting vision and goals for development infrastructure across platforms, including: web, mobile, and native apps
  • Previous experience coding, and working closely with engineering teams to understand their experience as builders and maintainers of code
  • Passion for providing services to an engineering client group
  • Proven experience executing tool development, services, and platforms, constantly checking for user satisfaction
  • Demonstrated success in setting rigorous metrics, and achieving goals
  • Ability to guide principles for the improvement of productivity of engineers specifically focusing on performance of critical development lifecycle stages
