last month

Co-op Funeralcare is proud to stand alongside our members at the most difficult times of their lives. We've been doing it for over 100 years, and our core values of care, compassion and respect will never change. But now we have an opportunity to change the way we deliver our services, and use the technology of the web to improve the care we provide our members when they need us most. For the past year, Co-op Digital has been helping us create better ways of doing business for our members, customers and communities. By introducing agile practices and building services that respond to real user needs, we're transforming a market-leading business into an example of how digital innovation can disrupt the most traditional of industries. Join us, and build a career where you can really make a difference.

As a product manager, you'll be right at the heart of Funeralcare's digital transformation. Sitting at the intersection between business, technology and user experience, you'll discover and create products and services that meet real user needs and are easy to use, feasible to build, and loved by their users.

What you'll do:

  • root out and clarify user needs with researchers and design colleagues, and talk and listen to potential users in the field
  • spot opportunities for invention and efficiency, and distil those insights into concrete missions that tie into our strategy
  • define the ways your product or service gets held to account, and ensure those metrics get tracked
  • get people excited about what you're going to make, so they become your champions and early adopters
  • articulate your vision to a cross-functional team, and break up its delivery into meaningful, achievable goals
  • translate user needs into compelling and clear user stories that designers can use to draw user flows and interactions, and developers can use to build the product or service
  • plan the pipeline with other product managers and make sure wherever possible, tech and design patterns are reused
  • lead, organise, and inspire the team with sharp analysis and well-articulated decisions
  • make sure everything in the pipeline is there for a reason, with meaningful metrics attached
  • interpret how members use our products, and translate that data into new opportunities for solving real problems
  • talk about your product or service with users, colleagues, and partners

To be successful as a product manager in Funeralcare digital, you'll need to be a dedicated, thoughtful and inspiring leader. Your empathy for everyday users, and your ability to ask the right questions and offer innovative ideas will help us build products and service that'll make a difference to the lives of millions of clients and colleagues.

What you'll bring:

  • experience discovering and running web-based services
  • great leadership skills, with the ability to inspire a multi-disciplinary team
  • empathy for everyday users of digital products
  • the ability to ask the right questions and proactively offer ideas
  • a desire to help drive culture change and introduce agile practices to a traditional business
  • an understanding of the difference between requirements and user needs
  • faith in the power of data, and your ability to interpret it

Why Co-op?

173 years ago a group of businessmen in Rochdale came up with an idea that changed the world. They believed that when people work together, they're stronger, and it's thanks to them that when you join Co-op Funeralcare you'll receive a competitive salary and a benefits package that includes 27 days holiday, an annual incentive scheme, private health cover, and an amazing pension.

We want to change the world all over again. If you believe in our purpose, and you're keen to build a career with a business that's different to all the rest, then join us. And help us re-invent an iconic British brand.

We're actively seeking to build diverse teams, and we welcome applications from all people regardless of ethnicity, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status or disability status. We will make adjustments to our interview process according to your needs.

We offer a flexible working environment, enabling our colleagues to adjust start and end times to accommodate a range of personal circumstances including nursery and school runs. Find out more about our maternity and paternity schemes, as well as a wide range of other Co-op people policies.
