Planview is looking for an experienced Product Manager that is passionate about building great products that lead to customer success. This role will be the product manager for Planview’s LeanKit product line. The product manager will focus on how the product line fulfills Planview’s Work and Resource Management vision, in particular the Lean and Agile Delivery solution.
The Product Manager needs to combine a great instinct for developing compelling products with a strong focus on what users are trying to accomplish in their organization, the technical aptitude to work with engineering and customers, and the business sense to drive product goals and strategies. The Product Manager must be able to communicate with all internal and external stakeholders, including development, customers, prospect-facing interactions during the sales cycle, and key industry analysts.
Understand the needs of customers and prospects to drive a product roadmap that balances innovation, competitive differentiation, and customer enhancements
Management of the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering product and customer needs, balancing new features with technical investments, and working with development to delight customers and maintain quality.
Responsible for defining the positioning of any new product capabilities. Be able to tell the story, demo the product, and enable sales.
Working directly with sales, consulting, marketing and customer care to support the product to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
Subject matter expert on lean and agile execution including becoming an authority on competitive analysis and how best position Planview’s solutions for Work and Resource Management.
Having the proficiency to support both inbound (product management) and outbound (product marketing) activities. Expect to spend at least 30% of your time on outbound activities.
Internal champion and external voice for LeanKit by evangelizing to the market, analysts, and customers.
Manage customer conversations and feedback to understand problems and various use cases to drive product decisions.
Understand the competitive and analyst landscape to drive innovation and stay ahead of the customer.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a product manager
Experience working with a software development organization to deliver a product to market
Experience with lean or agile processes
Ability to decompose innovation and competitive differentiation into a set of incremental releases
Ability to define, and work closely with teams to deliver, new capabilities in small increments to facilitate rapid feedback loops and maximize the continual flow of new value to customers
Ability to think about and consider analytics and user experience in product decisions
Ability to make decisions with imperfect information while understanding the trade-offs of such decisions to stand behind them
Experience with PMOs, product development/innovation, engineering and manufacturing, and/or scaled agile frameworks is a plus
Financial background is a plus
Technical background is a plus
Strong organizational and analytical skills
