About Farmdrop

Farmdrop represents a new approach to food retailing whereby the benefits of cutting out the middlemen are shared between customers who enjoy fresher, healthier food at lower prices, and smaller scale producers who enjoy best-ever trading terms. Our mission is to Fix The Food Chain. We already deliver food around London, Bristol and Bath using our own fleet of electric vans and are scaling the business. Our supporters include London foodies Gizzi Erskine and Tommi Miers, we work closely with the Soil Association and have been backed by the entrepreneurs behind ASOS, Love Film, Zoopla, and Street Car. Farmdrop founder Ben Pugh has been shortlisted for the Bloomberg 2016 Innovation award for changing the environment.

The Role

We are looking for a Product Manager with a passion for pushing mobile and desktop web technologies to the limits. You’ll work with our existing Product Managers, UX Team, Engineers and wider team to envision the future of our operational product development. You’ll also be hands-on and work closely with our team of talented designers and engineers to produce, design and build our products.

You will work on

  • The Farmdrop products:
    • Farmer/producer mobile/desktop app
    • Picking and Packing Operations mobile app
    • Logistics, driver and route-planning apps and tools
    • Customer service tools
    • ...and whatever else your vision compels you to create
  • Drive product development
  • Own and elaborate the product vision
  • Manage stakeholders and build consensus on priorities leading to product execution
  • Share a compelling narrative about what problems our products solve, for whom, and how they are solved.
  • Design and build experiments and prototypes to gather fast feedback
  • Analyse data and question user behaviour
  • Define and analyse metrics that inform the success of products, optimisations and new features

REQUIREMENTS

Your Background:

  • Experienced - you’ve got extensive experience as a Product Manager with software applications
  • Ready to change the world - you are eager to create positive social change through a clearly communicated product strategy and vision
  • Metrics - strong knowledge of appropriate product performance metrics, and make data driven decisions
  • Design - you know how design needs to be deeply embedded into the product process. Work alongside UX/UI designers
  • Development - experience within an in-house development team, comfortable communicating with engineers
  • Communicator - you can clearly articulate your decisions with the rest of the team and key stakeholders
  • User testing - understand the value of user testing and research
  • Start-up friendly - experience in fast-moving, dynamic environments with changing priorities and ambitious deadlines
  • Multi-task - to be able to work on multiple products concurrently
  • MVP - Ability to break large projects into manageable pieces, prioritising according to value
  • University level qualification

  • A self-starter and able to gather the information and requirements you need
  • Opinionated and able to challenge both product and vision discussions with others as well as influence and shape technology discussions with the engineers
  • A foodie - you love food and where it comes from, even if you’re not the best cook in the world
