About the role

Xero is currently looking for the next wave of innovative leaders to join our growing payments product team. We’re looking for leaders who love to see their teams deliver solutions to tens of thousands of users with each release, and who have the tenacity to take on the relentless pace of FinTech disruption within a supportive, outcome oriented product culture. You will be responsible for the development of our payments software for our global markets including; the UK, USA, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

As the Product Manager the focus of your role will be driving customer and business value through Managership of of new and existing products from early stage research and ideation, through to implementation and iteration based on key commercial success metrics. So you will be responsible for:

  • Understanding customer problems while being the champion of the ‘what’ and the ‘why’.
  • Delivering value through defining, driving and executing a product roadmap that realises Xero’s vision and objectives and ensures the success of the product.
  • Knowing the payments industry and being a subject matter expert in delivering payments solutions to Xero customers globally.
  • Bridging technical and business worlds as you lead strong and productive relationships with global stakeholders to deliver on market needs and priorities, and evangelise the product vision.
  • Working with product marketing, data and research teams to drive feature penetration and undertake competitive research to uncover customer needs and new product value propositions in line with the payments team’s vision.
  • Working closely with engineering to deliver quality software with amazing user experiences that solve real customer problems.

About you

We are looking for someone with a passion for building great products and, just as important as the technical experience, is the ability to be #human and take Managership of your environment. We are so lucky to have excellent people to work with and offices to work in and we'd love you to be a part of it.

So for you to be successful as Xero’s next Product Manager you'll ideally have some experience in:

  • A previous Product Manager/ Manager role alongside the ability to demonstrate collaborating with a diverse stakeholder group to realise commercial outcomes preferably within a payments and financial services environment.
  • Working with a cross functional Development team while successfully completing software development projects at scale.
  • Addressing customer needs through the innovative use of technology. Alongside influencing outcomes in a variety of contexts.
  • Working with a development team to ensure the solutions being developed are delivered on time alongside realising the vision, roadmap and the customer value it was intended to.
  • Showing your passion about the importance of measuring impacts from everything delivered, ensuring analytics are planned and in place to provide insights whilst working with product analysts as required.
  • Working closely with other teams from the wider business, such as support, marketing, training and sales, who help bring your solutions to market - and be used by thousands of people every day.
