The Director of Product will work alongside the General Manager, an account dedicated team and client product development/management on a variety of new product and existing product enhancement initiatives. The candidate will lead a team of Product Managers and designers focused on building world digital consumer experiences. The Director of Product will be the primary day-to-day product contact for a highly visible and important Synacor client and must possess exemplary communication, client management, leadership, and presentation skills.

  • Work closely with the client to develop/refine the product roadmap / requirements based on input from the client Synacor management, competitive and market analysis, and client stakeholders
  • Work with the client product team to manage and deliver product roadmaps
  • Lead relationship with client product managers, including business-level discussions and detailed product and technical meetings with client
  • Cooperatively manage complicated projects involving multiple teams to launch products on schedule
  • Continuously review key metrics, analyses and trends to improve product engagement, customer satisfaction and business performance
  • Build new product areas that complement existing suite of products
  • Responsible for the planning and definition of product requirements that meet business objectives (unique visitors, user engagement, etc)
  • Translate business requirements into product specifications and work closely with engineering teams to translate in to technical specifications
  • Oversee projects through the product development lifecycle from inception through production, handling all coordination between cross-functional teams
  • Work closely with marketing team to deliver collaterals and promotional elements to meet objectives for lead generation/awareness and client deployment
  • Leading, mentoring and developing the team
  • Provide comprehensive client service ensuring customer needs are met and exceeded

About You

  • 7-10 years Product Management experience in the Internet industry
  • Understanding of product lifecycle from inception through delivery and post-delivery support
  • Technical experience and background required; the ideal candidate will understand multi-product, highly-complex, interconnected software environments and an understanding of the full software development life cycle
  • Facile with agile product development, role of the product owner, scrum ceremonies, etc
  • World-class communication and presentation skills. Ability to communicate with senior management and clients with ease.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Ability to lead a cross-functional team and show progress on every task
  • Expertise in relationship building and relationship management
  • judgment in key issue identification and resolution spanning multiple departments throughout the customer deployment lifecycle
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent efforts
  • Ability to use data as a key driver in defining and measuring success
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, performance-driven environment
