As a Core Services Product Manager, you'll lead a team in building transformational features and services for buyers and sellers in both our Shipping and Payments Products. You'll be instrumental in expanding and maintaining these core seller platforms.

You'll share your time in shaping Etsy's strategy for the shipping functionality and services that allows our buyers to receive the handmade and vintage products from our global entrepreneurs from anywhere in the world, as well as ensuring the sellers can get paid in a method that meets the buyers capabilities and preferences. You'll work closely with your peers in engineering, design, data analysis, marketing, business development, and support. This position is based in Brooklyn, NY.

About the Core Services Team:

The shipping team is made up of a group of logistics experts, who are focused on designing and building a global delivery solution of technology and carriers that will make a local creative business accessible to any Etsy customer, anywhere in the world. We build the bridge between good user experience in an online marketplace and stellar physical delivery of products the the customer.

The payments team is focused on creating the best possible purchase and sales experience for buyers and sellers around the world. This means localized payment methods and currencies for buyers, and simple, streamlined payouts and billing for sellers. It also means thinking about innovative, industry leading products to move our business forward and differentiate Etsy. We value customer feedback and data analysis when building our products, believe in iterative development, and love spending time with our users. About the Job

  • Set the product strategy, prioritize features, build consensus, and coordinate product schedules with a team of engineers and designers to ship high-quality Shipping and Payments features.
  • Build and maintain a roadmap.
  • Build use cases and user stories around a product and communicate them effectively.
  • Integrate usability studies, user research, market analysis, and community feedback into product requirements to ensure products satisfy user needs as well as wants.
  • Inform product decisions with quantitative data on user behavior and experimentation (a/b testing).Investigate Shipping and Payments issues as they arise and serve as primary contact.
  • Facilitate communication throughout the development process by partnering with a variety of internal teams including marketing, business development, customer support, and community.
  • Define methods and metrics for identifying success and failure while ensuring the team is clear on their objectives.
  • Coordinate with other product managers and designers to ensure the cohesiveness of the overall user experience.

About You

  • 3+ years of product management / product ownership experienceExceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
  • Strong user experience sensibilities.
  • Strong technical abilities, including SQL, and ideally programming and integration experience with 3rd party services & APIs.
  • Ability to work closely with engineers.
  • Strong use of analytics, user research and business cases to drive decisions and improve products.
